Happy 29th Birthday Grandpa

I wanted to give a “shout out” to my Grandpa on his 92nd Birthday…or as he would say 29th. For pretty much as long as I can remember he has always inverted the numbers, because it makes him younger, of course. So, when I called him up yesterday I wished him a Happy 29th. My grandpa is pretty much amazing. He has lived a long happy life and as he says, “After the first 100 years, its smooth sailing”.

Here are some of the wonderful things I have learned/love about my grandpa:

He is respectful, caring and loving to my grandmother – He’s an amazing example of how you should treat your significant other
He has always been there for my sisters and I and my family
He knows the value and importance of hard work (He worked sometimes up to three jobs, so that my grandmother could stay at home with the children)
He has great genes (Too bad I didn’t get some of the height)
He’s bilingual
He has some amazing war experiences of which, I couldn’t even imagine having to deal with
He likes to cook breakfast for us when we visit…and I’m talking eggs, bacon, toast, you name it…he’ll make it. He wants to make sure you start the day out right
He likes to shop for deals (especially with coupons)
But he likes shopping for cars even more….
He loves spending time with family
He knows everyone in their neighborhood and beyond….he will collect their aluminum cans and take them to recycle. Any money he makes he puts into a savings for his grandkids and great grandchildren.
He’s the best grandpa anyone could ask for

Love you grandpa! Here’s to many more! :)
